Before You Start Your Business

Before you start your business, you will need to determine what it will take you to potentially profit with it, before you set it up, if you wish to succeed with it. In order to do this, you will need to do some research to

  • Determine the value that you can provide in your business that will sell
  • Choose a potentially profitable niche to sell to
  • Test the demand for your business idea/value
  • Define a uniqueness for the value and/or product or service that you will be providing in your business
  • Determine how much it would potentially cost you, to make X amount (that is, a specific amount of money) with your idea/value as a product/service, with your business, within a specific period of time.
  • Determine if you can afford to set up and run your business, selling your idea/value as a product/service within that specific period of time

Doing this will help you to determine how much of the following

  • Skills (Yours, your employees’ and/or third parties’ through outsourcing)
  • Resources
  • Expert Advice/Help
  • Training
  • Tools
  • Promotions (Promotional plans, ad media/methods, ads, offers and content)
  • Funds
  • Time

You will need to potentially make specific amount of profits, within a specific period of time in your business.

This can help you to

  • Determine whether you can afford to start and run your chosen business or not
  • Determine and know the businesses you can afford to set up and run within specific periods of time
  • Determine how long it may take you to make some money with your chosen business before you start it
  • Determine how long it may take you to make as much as you want in your business before you start it
  • Determine how much you may need to invest in or commit to your business in order to make some specific amount of profits through it
  • Avoid starting a business you cannot sustain
  • Avoid failing in your business

You can also use this too to

  • Create different streams of income for yourself
  • Sell anywhere in any niche

You may choose to determine what your business need to potentially profit, by yourself, with the help of your employees and/or with the help of others (through outsourcing)

To know if you can determine by yourself, what your business will need to potentially make as much as you may have projected that you will make through it, you will need to know the steps you will need to take to determine that.

Once you have an idea of what those steps are, you will then need to determine if you can give or provide your business with what it needs to potentially profit (as much as you may have projected/estimated), by yourself and/or with the help of your employees or third parties.

You should ideally not start a business (if you wish to succeed with it)

  • If you cannot determine or provide what your chosen business need by yourself or
  • If you cannot afford to pay others to determine or provide your business with what it would need

To potentially make you some specific amount of profits within a specific period of time.
