Social Media Marketing: How To Generate Some X Amount Of Sales/Profits Through The Social Media

You can use what you will learn from here on how to generate some X (that is, specific) amounts of sales/profits through the social media to

  • Create different levels of income in different niches, countries and locations over time
  • Determine what you would need to do, in your business, in order to create different levels of income in different niches, countries and locations over time

You will generally need to provide your business with what it needs in terms of skills, time, money, expert help, training, resources, promotions and tools, in order for you to be able to make your expected or specified X amount of sales/profits, through the social media in your business.

You may also need to fix what may be wrong with your product/service, the value you provide, your product/business’ unique edge, your content, ads and offers, how you are doing your social media marketing and promotions, the type of skills, tools etc that you are using to implement your social media strategy/plan and so on, before what you will learn from here would work for your business too.

To generate any amount of sales through the social media in your business, will require some level of skill and some time, money, resources, tools and promotions from you, it may also require that you should get some expert help and/or training too, in order for you to be able to achieve your sales/profits goal, through the social media.

You will need to set some goal, that is, some specific social media goal that you would want to achieve within a specific period of time, in order to generate some X amounts of sales/profits in your business. For example, let us assume that you wish to make $12,000 in net profit within a year (that is, $1,000 per month) through the social media in your business, that is, we are assuming that you are setting a social media goal to make $12,000 in net profit within a year.

In order for you to be able to achieve this, you will need to first of all determine, what it will potentially take you to make as much as that in your business.

By doing that, you can

  • Get some idea of how much it may potentially cost you to make as much as your chosen X amount of money (which in this case is $12,000), within the period of time that you may have specified
  • Determine if you can afford to do it
  • Determine if you may have to start small (that is, if you cannot afford to do or provide what you may need, to make as much as you want in your business, within your stated/specified period of time)
  • Determine what you can start and sustain in your business on the social media within a specific period of time

You can with some research and by using some estimated figures/numbers, generally create a social media strategy and plan that can help you, to potentially make as much as you want in your business. You can do this by yourself and/or with the help of your employees or with the help of third parties through outsourcing.

You may therefore need one or more copywriters, content creators, content writers, social media managers, virtual assistants, promotional assistants, graphic designers etc, to perform or provide any one of these for your business.

You can create, manage and execute your social media strategy and plan

1). By Yourself (For Free)

In a fulltime role or by starting small.

2). With The Help Of Your Employees

That is, for example with

  • One employee (with full-time role)
  • A team (one or more employees with full-time roles)

3). With The Help Of Freelancers, Consultants And Contractors

Who may help you to plan, create, execute and/or manage your social media presence and strategies on a per hour or per project basis.

4). With The Help Of Agencies

Who may help you to plan, create, execute and/or manage your social media presence and strategies on a retainer basis, you may have to pay a monthly fee for this.

5). By Using A Combination Of These Options

You may also choose to combine or use any or all of the foregoing in any way that would work for your business.

To Determine How Much It May Potentially Cost You To Profit

In order for you to know/determine how much it may potentially cost you in terms of skills, time, money, expert help, training, resources, promotions and tools, to make X amount of money/profits in your business through the social media, you will need to do some research to get some estimates and compare, how much it would potentially cost you to create, manage and execute your social media strategy and plan within a specific period of time by yourself, with the help of your employees and/or third parties through outsourcing.

Using the example above for instance, in order for you to determine how much it will potentially cost you to make $12,000 in net profit within a year through the social media, you can do some research to get some estimates on what it will potentially cost you in terms of skills, time, money, expert help, training, resources, tools and promotions, to create, manage and execute a social media strategy and plan by yourself or with the help of an employee or with a low cost or premium social media management service, that will help you to potentially make $12,000 in net profit within a year, through the social media.

Note: We will only illustrate this with some social media management service costs. The potential cost of making any X amount of sales/profits in your business through the social media, will generally depend on how basic or involving your social media strategy and plan are, and the number of hours you or others, will need to commit to creating, managing and executing them.

You will need to do your own research and use your own estimates (figures/numbers), in order to know how much this will cost you in your business, in real terms. This demo example is just to provide you with some idea on what you may need to do, your own actual costs will differ, the options you may also choose to review and work with in your business, will most likely be different too.

For our demo example, some of the options that you may have for creating, managing and executing your social media strategy and plan (using some estimates as noted earlier) are as follows

1). Do It Yourself (By The Business Owner)
As a full time role with the use of some free social media management tools.

  • Cost – Free

That is, the potential cost of the social media management service that will be provided by you as (the business owner) to your business, is zero (for demo purposes anyway).

2). With One Employee (In a full time role)
And by using some free social media management tools.

  • Cost – $30,000 (within a year)

That is, the potential cost of the social media management service that will be provided to your business by an employee is $30,000. This is an estimated (demo) salary for an employee within a year.

3). With A Low Cost Social Media Management Service

You may get some freelancers/consultants to provide some social media management service to your business at a rate between $20 to $100 (or more) per hour.

Hence if your social media strategy and plan need a 30-hour social media management service per month, your costs (within a year) may be similar to any of these

  • $20 x 30 x 12 months = $7,200
  • $80 x 30 x 12 months = $28,800
  • $100 x 30 x 12 months = $36,000

4). With A Premium Social Media Management Service

You may also get some premium social media management service (from agencies for instance) for use in your business.

Depending on how involving it may be to create, manage and/or execute your social media strategy and plan, or on whether your chosen agency will provide some or all of what you may need to create, manage and/or execute your social media strategy/plan, your cost may be from say $600 – $1000 (for starter packages) or more per month.

Hence a premium social media management service at the low end may cost you the following or more

  • $600 x 12 months = $7,200

Making A Decision (Using Our Demo Example)

Based on our demo example, if we assume that at this point in time, that your business will not be able to afford, to pay for a full time staff or a social media management service, to create, manage and execute your social media strategy and plan, the only viable option for you then (that is, based on our demo example), will then be the first option, that is, the Do It Yourself option where you (as business owner) will have to create, manage and execute your social media strategy and plan by yourself.

The problem with this option though, is that, as the business owner, you may not be able to do this fulltime, which will most likely affect how much you will be able to make, through the social media in your business. That is, you may not be able to make as much as you may have originally intended to make through the social media, without doing this full time.

You will therefore need to reevaluate and modify your social media strategy and plan based on the number of hours you can commit to it. This in essence may mean, you will be starting small with the social media, in your business.

You will most likely need to do this type of reevaluation and adjustment in your business (using your own researched figures and estimates), in order to know and determine what you can afford to do and work with on the social media.

You Will Need To Base Your Promotions On Your Tracked Results In Order To Make Your Specified X Amount Of Profits/Sales

Once you have created and planned the specific social media strategy, that you can use to potentially make some specific X amount of sales/profits in your business, through the social media, the next step for you will then be to implement and execute your plan. You will generally need to measure and track the results that you will get from this, as noted earlier.

You will need to consistently base your promotions on your tracked results, after any initial promotional results that you may have, in order for you to be able to achieve your goal of making your specified X amount of sales/profits through the social media.

For instance, if you made $500 in net profit in your first month through the social media, you will need to track and determine which social media sites, content, content types etc made you as much as this.

You will need to track this in order for you to know the content, ads and offers that you should continue to use, that is likely to make you more money, and those that you should drop or stop using. Tracking in this manner will let you know what to use, and where to effectively use and promote on/with next on the social media, if you wish to get the best and optimal results in your business through your social media marketing efforts.

You will generally need to track and promote consistently in this manner, in order for you to be able to achieve your social media goal, of making your chosen and defined X amount of profits/sales. That is, using the $500 example above, you will need to track and promote based on your tracked results consistently in order to generate more than $500, $1000, $2000, $3000 etc, in your business until you have achieved your specified X amount of profits/sales.

What You Can Do With This

You can

  • Try this out too in your business in order to make some X amount of sales/profits through the social media.
  • Run your business through this to see what you are doing now and what you may not be doing yet on the social media for your business
  • Determine why you are not making as much as you want through your business through the social media
  • Determine if you are actually providing your business with as much as it needs to make you as much as you want to make through the social media.
  • Check to ensure that what you need to do to profit through the social media are already included in your social media strategy and plan
  • If You Already Have Some Results From The Social Media
    • You can use all of these too, by using your tracked results to determine how much you may need to promote next, in order to make as much as you may want to make, through the social media within a specific period of time, in your business.

Before You Use The Social Media

Before you use the social media for the promotion or marketing of your product/service, you should have

  • Determined the value that you can provide in your business that will sell
  • Chosen a potentially profitable niche to sell to
  • Tested the demand for your business idea/value
  • Defined a uniqueness for the value and/or product or service that you will be providing in your business
  • Determined how much it would potentially cost you, to make X amount (that is, a specific amount of money) with your idea/value as a product/service, with your business, within a specific period of time.
  • Determined if you can afford to set up and run your business, selling your idea/value as a product/service within that specific period of time
  • Determine if your chosen product/service can potentially make you as much as you want in net profit, within your stated/specified period of time

You will need to do this in order to be able to determine amongst other things

  • The type of products/services that you can sell, that will be potentially profitable for you
  • The type of content, offers and ads that you will need to create or ask others to create for your business, that you can use to promote your products/services effectively through any of the ad media/methods (including the social media) that you may choose to use in your business, in order to make the sale

You can do all of the above (that is, determine the value you can provide etc) by yourself and with the help of your employees and/or third parties (through outsourcing). You will need to do each one of the above if you wish to succeed with your business, and with any promotional method or ad medium (including the social media), that you would want to use with your business.

In other words, you should ideally not promote your products, services or business on the social media (or on/with any ad medium/method) without doing some research first

  • On how potentially profitable your business idea and product is, and
  • The value that you will need to sell to make money in your business

If you have not done these yet with your business, you can do so now with the help of The Profit Blueprint. You can generally apply and implement the profit steps and solutions as outlined in The Profit Blueprint on any type of business, idea or niche in order to determine

  • The value you should provide that will sell
  • How potentially profitable your business idea is
  • If you can afford to set up and run your chosen business, idea or product within a specific period
  • And much more …
