Your potential customers are those (that is, the targets) that are likely to buy your product/service. You should ideally have determined who these are, before you start your business. If you have not determined who your targets are however, you will need to do so now, in order for you to be able to know, and determine who to sell to, and who will most likely buy your product/service on the social media.
You need to do this, in order to profit and succeed with your business, and your social media marketing, this is not optional if you wish to generate some sales for your business and from the social media.
A business consultant, expert or professional can help you to research and determine who your targets are, if you don’t know how to do this by yourself, you may therefore need to get some help on this.
You will generally need to get to your potential/existing customers on the social media, in order to generate some sales for your business, through the social media.
To Know Whether You Are Getting To Your Potential Customers Or Not On The Social Media
1). You will first of all need to determine who your targets are as noted above.
2). You will then need to review your followers (that is, those that are following your social media profiles/pages on the social media), to determine if they are your targeted audience or not.
For example, if your business’ target audience are graphic designers, and your business social media profile/page is being followed by graphic designers, then your followers are targeted, that is, your followers are the type of targets that your business will need to sell to, in order to generate some sales, through the social media.
3). In addition to this, you will also need to determine if you are getting to your potential customers, through the promotional avenues/options (such as social media groups, influencers, paid ads etc), that you may be using in your business, for the promotion and/or marketing of your product or service, on the social media.
To determine if you are getting to your potential customers through such avenues/options, you will need to determine if you are targeting the right audience through them.
You can generally use paid ads on the social media to get to your target audience. You will need to choose your targets as the target audience for your paid ads, in order for you to be able to get to your potential customers through your ads.
This will typically mean that you will need to choose an audience with the same demography (age, gender, location etc), interest, profile/page bio, category and so on, as the targets for your paid ads. You can generally do such type of targeting on the social media sites you may be using to advertise, with the specific type of tools that may be available on such sites.
You can review the ad campaigns/promotions that you are currently using on the social media, for the promotion/marketing of your product/service, in order to ensure that they are targeted. Doing this is what will ensure that you will get to your potential customers, on the social media through your paid ads, and that you can make the sale.
Social Media Groups
You may also choose to use one or more social media groups, to post your content and promote/market your product or service, on the social media too. You can ensure that you will get to your potential customers through social media groups, by joining and using the social media groups that your target audience are members of.
For instance, if your targets are graphic designers, you can join and then post your content and promote/market your product or service on graphic designers’ social media groups.
Social Media Influencers
If you are using social media influencer marketing, for the promotion/marketing of your product/service, in order to ensure that you will get to your potential customers through it, you will need to choose influencers that are being followed by your target audience, that is, social media influencers with followers, that are your target audience, for the promotion/marketing of your product or service.
Other Social Media Users (Individuals, Organizations, Businesses Etc)
You may also choose to do some partnership, joint venture deals etc, with other social media users on the social networks, to market and promote your product/service too.
If you are using other social media users for the promotion/marketing of your product or service, you will need to choose and work with those with followers, that are your target audience, in order for you to be able to get to your potential customers, through them too, on the social media.
Social Media Applications
If you choose to use social media applications as free giveaways on the social media, with the intention of using them to increase your business sales, reach and/or awareness, you will need to target your audience specifically with them, in order for you to be able to get to your potential customers through your social media applications.
It is extremely important for you to ensure that you are getting to your potential customers (that is, those who are likely to buy from you) on the social media, since this is what will make it possible for you to generate some new sales, through the social media in your business. You should ideally do this, to avoid making generating new sales hard, or difficult for your business, on the social media.
If you are not sure that you are getting to your potential customers on the social media, you will need to check and review each one of the foregoing in your business, in order to ensure that you are doing your social media marketing effectively enough to profit.
