The whole idea behind these series of articles, is to let you know that to generate any amount of sales through the social media, requires the same process/steps.

You may have less or more resources at your disposal than the next guy (or business), but the steps and process that you will need to go through (generally), in order to generate $1000, $5000, $10000 etc in sales or revenue through the social media are the same, which ultimately means you can decide on how much you would want to make in your business, through the social media, if you can commit the right amount of resources (that is, skills, people, funds etc) to it.

.
If you wish to make $5000 in net profit through the social media by selling a product or service, you will need to read the following

” The main or key difference between making less than a thousand dollars, or $1000 or more (that is $2000, $5000, six-figures etc) through the social media, is the amount of money you may need to spend on your social media marketing … more >>

Before You Start

Before you use the social media for the promotion or marketing of your product/service, you will need to have

  • Chosen a potentially profitable niche to sell to
  • Chosen the targets (potential customers) that you will be selling to in your chosen/selected niche
  • Defined the country(s) and/or location(s) of your chosen targets
  • Determined the type of product/service that you will be selling to your chosen targets in the niche
  • Defined the value(s) that you will be providing to your chosen targets with your product/service
  • Tested the demand for your product/service before you start a business based on it
  • Defined a uniqueness for your product, service and/or business, that will provide your targets with a reason, to prefer your product/service and/or business instead of your competitors’
  • Determined how much you would want to make in net profit in your business from your chosen niche within a specific period of time, with the product/service that you may have chosen to sell
  • Determined the number of customers/targets that you will need, in order for you to make as much as you want in terms of profits, in your business, within the specific period you may have defined

Doing these should help you to

  • Determine what to sell, who to sell to, and how you will sell your product/service (that is, either locally, nationally or globally).
  • Determine the type of product/service that you can sell, that your targets (potential customers) will want and buy through the social media
  • Determine the type of content, offers and ads, that you will need to create or ask others to create for your business, that you can use to promote or market your product/service, and/or business effectively through the social media, in order for you to make the sale
  • Determine who, that is, the targets to look for on the social media that are likely to buy your product or service
  • Find targeted followers for your business on the social media, that fit your targets’ profile
  • Determine how much you will want to make in net profit through the social media, in your business, within a specific period of time (this will be your social media profit goal)

You can do each of the above (that is, choose a potentially profitable niche to sell to etc) with some research, for your business by yourself, and with the help of your employees and/or third parties (through outsourcing). You will need to determine each one of these for your business, if you wish to succeed with it, and with your use of the social media for the promotion/marketing of your product or service.

You will need to do these whether you are a small, medium-size or big business, or whether your business is local, global or international.

If you have not determined these for your business yet, you can do so now with the help of The Profit Blueprint. You can generally apply and implement the profit steps and solutions as outlined in The Profit Blueprint on your business, in order for you to profit and succeed with it. You can click here now to get The Profit Blueprint.

Once you have determined all of the above for your business, you can then use the social media for profit.

If you have already established a social media presence for your business, you will need to do the above too if you have not done them yet, if you wish to succeed with your business and your social media marketing.

Some Of The Different Ways You May Choose To Sell

Some of the different ways you may choose to sell in your business include

  • Selling a single product or service
  • Selling multiple products or services
  • Selling in one or more niches
  • Selling to one or more targets
  • Selling in one or more countries

You will need to do some comparison to determine and know, the combination of some of these, that are likely to be more potentially profitable for your business than others, within a specific period of time, you can learn more about this in The Profit Blueprint.

Determining this may help you to know the optimal and best combination of these, that is likely to make you $5000 in net profit potentially, within a specific period of time in your business, and through the social media.

You may make more money/profits with your product or service in some countries than others. You may therefore want to do some comparison and some research on this, before you start too.

To Make $5000 In Net Profit In Your Business Through The Social Media

1). You will need to set $5000 as your social media profit goal

2). You will also need to set or define a specific period of time in which you would want to make your $5000 in net profit from the social media

3). Your business must be potentially profitable enough to make you $5000 in net profit within the specific period of time that you may have defined or set for it.

With some research, you should be able to determine if your chosen business is potentially profitable enough to make you $5000 in net profit, within the specific period of time, that you may have set or defined for it.

You should ideally have determined if your business can potentially make some specific amount in profit before you start your business, and before you start using the social media for the promotion and marketing of your product/service as noted earlier. Once you’ve done this, you should then be able to determine if your business can make $5000 in net profit within some specific period of time too.

For instance, if you have been able to determine that your business can potentially make you $75,000 in net profit within a year, you should then be able to determine too, if it can also potentially make you say $5000 in net profit within a month, 2 months, 3 months etc.

If you have not done this yet for your business, you will need to do this, before doing any other thing with your social media marketing, if you wish to succeed with it, and if you wish to achieve your goal of making $5000 in net profit through the social media, within the specific period you may have defined or set for your business.

4). You will also need to have done some research, to determine that you can get to as many as, the number of targets that you will need, to potentially make $5000 in net profit through the social media

For instance, if you need 200 people/targets to buy from you, in order for you to make $5000 in net profit potentially through the social media, within the specific period of time that you may have defined or set for your business, you should ideally calculate the number of people/targets that you may need to get to, by using a conversion rate of about say 1%. That is, you can assume that for every 100 people/targets that you will get to on the social media, 1 person will buy from or through you.

Thus, you will therefore then need to get to about 20,000 people/targets, in order for you to potentially make $5000 in net profit through the social media in your business. Once you have such numbers/figures to work with, you can then do some research to determine if you can get to at least 20,000 people/targets in your chosen niche, on the social media.

You can use any conversion rate for this, the 1% that is being used here, is just for demo purposes.

The price per unit of your chosen product/service, and how many times your targets can buy your product/service, and the cost of selling your product/service, will determine how many units of your product/service you will need to sell, and the number of targets you may need to sell to, in order to make as much as you want in profits, within some specified period of time with your product/service.

The higher the price of your product/service is, and the higher the number of times each one of your targets will or may need your product/service, the fewer the number of targets that you will need to buy, in order for you to make specific amount of revenue/profits with your product/service.

5). You will need to determine the potential cost of making $5000 in net profit from the social media in your business

To make $5000 in net profit through the social media, you will need to create a social media strategy and plan that can help you to potentially make as much as $5000 in net profit, within the specific period of time you may have set/defined, and will also need to determine the potential cost of creating, managing and implementing such a strategy and plan too.

By determining the potential cost of creating, managing and implementing your social media strategy and plan, you can

  • Get some idea of how much it may potentially cost you to make as much as your chosen $X amount of money (which in this case is $5000), within the period of time that you may have specified
  • Determine if you can afford to do it
  • Determine if you may have to start small (that is, if you cannot afford to do or provide what you may potentially need, to make as much as you want in your business, within your stated/specified period of time)
  • Determine what you can start and sustain in your business on the social media within a specific period of time
  • Determine what is likely to give you some results or the type of results that you want
  • Avoid wasting your time and money
  • Determine what you will need to make the social media work for your business specifically

You can with some research and by using some projected or estimated figures/numbers, create a social media strategy and plan that can help you, to potentially make as much as you want in your business. You can do this by yourself and/or with the help of your employees or with the help of third parties through outsourcing.

Your potential costs will depend on

  • Whether you will be doing your social media marketing
    • For free, at a low cost or at a premium
    • By yourself, with the help of your employees, and/or third parties (through outsourcing etc)
  • The type of strategy you will be using
  • The amount/level of skills (people and services), time, money, expert help, training, resources, promotions and tools that you will need, in order for you to be able to potentially achieve your social media profit goal

You can compare how much it will potentially cost you to use different combination of options, to potentially make or generate $5000 in net profit, through the social media in your business, and then choose the best option that will work for you.

To generate any amount of sales through the social media in your business, will require some level of skill and some time, money, resources, tools and promotions from you, it may also require that you should get some expert help and/or training too, in order for you to be able to achieve your sales/profits goal.

You will need to know how much you will need in terms of skills, money, resources, expert help, training or tools in order for you to be able to make $5000 in net profit potentially in your business, with the strategy and plan that you may have defined to achieve this.

You will generally need to provide your business with what it needs, in terms of skills, time, money, expert help, training, resources, promotions and tools, in order for you to be able to make your expected or specified $X amount of sales/profits, through the social media.

You can see some examples of some potential costs for creating and implementing social media strategies/plans at Social Media Marketing Costs: Doing It For Free, At A Low Cost Or At A Premium.

6). You will need to set a budget

You will need to set a budget for your social media marketing, based on what you can afford for the specific period of time, you may have set to profit through the social media.

7). You may need to redefine your social media strategy and plan

After you may have done your researches, if you discover that you cannot afford the potential cost for the skills, time, money, expert help, training, resources, promotions and tools, that you will need to potentially achieve the social media profit goal, that you may have set for your business, you may choose to start small with what you can afford, and then build on that over time. This may mean you may have to change (that is, reduce/lower) your profit goal.

That is, if for example, you have set a profit goal to make $5000 in net profit, from the social media in your business within 6 months, and after doing your researches, you discovered that you cannot afford the potential cost of providing your business with the skills, time, money, expert help, training, resources, promotions and tools, that it would need to achieve that goal, you can then do some recalculation of your projections/estimates, to determine how much you can potentially make in profits with what you can afford.

If from your recalculations, you were able to determine that you can only make for example say, about $2000 in net profit potentially (using some estimates), with what you can afford, you will therefore then need to change your original goal of making $5000 in net profit to $2000.

Doing this will help you to redefine and fit your social media strategy and plan to what you can actually afford in your business.

8). You will need to execute your social media strategy and plan

Once you’ve created and planned the specific social media strategy, that you can use to potentially make $5000 or some specific $X amount of sales/profits in your business, through the social media, the next step for you will then be to implement and execute your plan. You will generally need to measure and track the results that you will get from this.

9). You will need to track and optimize your results

You will need to set up an ad tracking system to track your sales, traffic, leads etc from the social media, and will also need to use the data/information from your tracked result reports, to consistently promote your product/service on the social media.

If you already have a social media presence and you don’t have such an ad tracking system in place yet, you will have to set it up.

You will need to consistently base your promotions on your tracked results, after any initial promotional results that you may have, in order for you to be able to achieve your goal of making your $5000 in net profit through the social media.

For instance, if you made say about $500 in net profit in your first month through the social media, you will need to track and determine which social media sites, content, content types etc, made you as much as this.

You will need to track this in order for you to know the content, ads and offers that you should continue to use, that is likely to make you more money, and those that you should drop or stop using. Tracking in this manner will let you know what to use, and where to effectively use and promote on/with next on the social media.

You will generally need to track and promote consistently in this manner, in order for you to be able to achieve your social media goal, of making $5000 in net profit. That is, using the $500 example above, you will need to track and promote based on your tracked results consistently in order to generate $600, $700, $800 etc, in your business until you have made up to the $5000 in net profit, that you want.

You can preview an example of the type of report you should have in your business from your ad tracking system at Social Media Tracking: Are You Making Money? You may click on the link to view the sample report.

Note

  • If you don’t think you can do all of the foregoing on your own, you should ideally get some help.
  • Having some experience with selling a product/service, and generating some sales through the social media, will go a long way in helping you with this. However, even if you don’t have any previous experience with that, you can still implement all of the foregoing in your business in order to profit.
  • You may want to work together with a social media marketing expert with this, or you may choose to hire a social media marketing professional as your employee (in order for you to be able to achieve your profit goal, of making $5000 in net profit in your business, and in order for you to also be able to make more money, through the social media).

You would therefore want to ensure that you provide your business with what it needs, in order for you to be able to achieve your profit goal.
  • If you want, you may also choose to do your researches and create/plan your social media strategy by yourself and/or with the help of your employees, and then get a social media management expert/service to review your strategy and plan for you.

  • You may also choose to only use a social media management expert and/or service when you need it.
  • You may also get someone else (that is, a social media expert/professional) to review everything you may have done so far too, with your social media marketing.
  • If you have already established your social media presence, you may need to change or modify your existing social media strategy/plan, based on what you may have determined that you may need to do now, in order to make $5000 in net profit through the social media.
  • You may be able to make as much as you want through the social media by yourself, with the help of your employees and/or with the help of a social media expert(s) or service(s).
  • Your social media content, ads and offers will need to reach or get to enough number of targets (that is, enough target audience), for them to be able to get you some result.
