Some of the options that you have to get paid for your product(s)/service(s) locally or internationally from or through the social media in the UK are
1). By directing your social media traffic (potential customers/clients) through url links to your online payment processor’s page, product/service page or your online store.
To do this, you will first of all need to sign up with an online payment/ecommerce processor, who will typically provide you with some codes for a payment page and some instructions on how to set them up. You can then
- Set up a web page to sell your product/service and link the web page to your payment/ecommerce processor’s page and/or
- Set up an online store for your products/services and link the store to your payment/ecommerce processor’s page
Online payment/ecommerce processors can accept payments for your product/services, on your behalf, through local/international credit and debit cards, and/or e-currencies. You will generally need to determine the type of payment options that are available with any payment/ecommerce processor, that you may have chosen to use in your business, and will also need to determine if the payment options that are available with such a service can be used locally in the UK and/or internationally.
Some online payment/ecommerce processors that you can use to receive payments for your products/services as a UK business include
You may do some additional research online to review more online payment processors.
2). By making use of the Buy buttons that are available on some social media sites, that you can use to direct your potential customers from the social media sites, to your online store or the payment page for your product(s) and/or service(s) on your website or on your payment processor’s site.
3). By making use of social media apps that may let you list your products/services on one or more social media sites, and that will also direct your potential customers from the social media sites, to your online store or payment page, when your potential customers click on your products/services in such apps
4). By making use of custom tab apps (such as the free Static HTML: iframe tab), that you can install on a Facebook page, and then add some html codes to, that may list or display your products/services, and that will also direct your potential customers from the social media sites to your online store or the payment page for your product(s) and/or service(s) on your website or on your payment processor’s site.
8). Some other options include selling through social media comments using hashtags, email addresses, specific keywords etc, you may do some additional research on this on the internet too.
Non-Digital Payment Options
In addition to receiving payments digitally through the social media, you can also receive the payments for your product/service through the social media in some non-digital form too, through some options such as phone calls, manual (bank) checks/cheques, cash on delivery, in-store payments etc. You can use such non-digital form of payments through or with your website, or with social media sites’ Buy buttons, a Facebook Shop, online stores like Ecwid etc.
Some Free Options
Some free options that you may have, to receive payments for your products/services through or from the social media are as follows
- You can set up, up to 10 products for free with an Ecwid store/app
- You can also set up your product/service to receive payments, through a service such as Payza for free too, you will only need to pay a fee, when you actually make a sale.
- You can set up a free online store with WordPress and WooCommerce. You can use this to sell one or more products/services, by directing your traffic to a payment page (that may have been set up with Payza for instance) and/or for manual payment processing like checks/cheques, in-store payments etc, that is, if you wish to use such options, in your business.
You will need to review all of the foregoing options in order to determine what would work for your business in the UK.
